Sara Labelle
Sara Labelle is a Medical Laboratory Technologist who has lived and worked in Oshawa for over 20 years. She is also a community organizer and a champion for the rights of working Canadians.
Throughout her experience on the executive boards of the Ontario Public Services Employees Union (OPSEU), the National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE), and the Ontario Health Coalition, Sara fought with grit and determination to defend Canadians' access to the health care they need, and to uphold the rights of Canadian workers.
Sara has always stood against greed and globalization, from negotiating contracts on behalf of thousands of workers to standing at protests with GM employees in Oshawa. Sara knows there is no economy without the people who build our communities and keep Canada moving.
Before settling in Oshawa in 2001, Sara was raised in New Brunswick and spent a decade living in Brazil in her youth. Her love of sports, including volleyball and roller derby, fueled her competitive spirit and teamwork sensibility. Sara is unafraid to throw elbows up for her community, and she will bring that same unshakable tenacity to her role as your Member of Parliament.
